Ever think about how your animal came into your life? Did you pick them or did they pick you? We like to think we picked them but is that really the truth.
Have you ever decided you are getting a pet; you want a small quiet dog, possibly a puppy. Thinking black with blue eyes would be good. Then come home with a medium sized older dog that is brown with brown eyes. What changed your mind? Animals have an amazing sense of who they should be with, who needs them and who they need.
The animal may need us to help them get emotionally, mentally or physically healthy. They also know with that help we give them, we will be experiencing changes within ourselves. We probably didn’t even know we needed this. Most of the time we don’t even realize it is the animal that brings this to us. Examples: unconditional love, learning to love again, a best friend, someone to tell our dreams too, someone to listen to our problems, someone that makes us feel special
My friend and her husband went to pick out a dog. One particular dog was very attentive to my friend. She and her husband decided to take this dog. Both of them love the dog. Although when my friend found out the dog was here for her husband, she was questioning this. Why was the dog so focused on her when they met for the first time? Answer: She was the one that was going to be making the final decision as to which dog they picked.
Watch and listen to the animals, they know better than us what we need. If one is trying hard to get your attention; pay attention to them. See if you feel a connection. You may not even be looking for an animal but they know you need one and it just might be them!
