How to Gain Trust

February 6, 2021 by Clifford & Shelley Leave a Comment

Animals do everything through their heart.  Their heart is full of love.  Can you imagine how powerful that is?  We can both embrace and except this love unconditionally or we can try and control it.  There has to be mutual trust between humans and animals.  In order for us to feel safe, we need to be able to trust our family, friends, co-workers, anyone there is a relationship with.  Animals need this “trust” too.  Love grows strong with trust.

Trust is an ongoing daily process.  The animals need and want to trust us.  Their lives depend on this.  A simple way to start is by talking to your animal every day.  For example:  Heading out to get groceries.  Tell them where you are going and you will be back in two hours.  If not sure how long, say longer then you anticipate.  Coming home sooner than later is always better as far as the animals are concerned.  The more you come home according to what you said, the more relaxed your animal will be.  They know you can be trusted to come home, you have earned that trust.

There are many daily routines this concept can be applied too.  If gone over night, then tell them you will be back in one sleep.  The more you talk to them, the more they feel valued and part of the family.  The more you do what you say, the more they trust you.  This in turn makes the bond of love stronger.  No control just mutual respect.  Every living being wants and could use this.

If we give to the animals, they in turn will give in ways that we truly could never imagine.

Cleaning up. Looked down to this.

I was sweeping after Sam, my horse one morning.

I looked down and the pile I had accumulated looked like this.
