Are you spending today with family including your animals? I bet they would love to give kisses or licks to their special ones. It is a day to celebrate the females in your life and theirs. If no females then good excuse for even more bonding time between who is around. Include the animals in some of the activities. They will be grateful.
This brings up the question of how to address your animal: mom, dad, your name, etc. Most people consider themselves mom or dad to their animals. There is no wrong way to address just make sure it is consistent. In our house, CJ (my cat) is my baby boy even though he is 4 years old and a big boy. Sam (my horse) is my partner. Sam will be 22 years old this month making him in human years older than me. Sam also likes to be the boss so this helps me with some say in how we accomplish our goals. I call them “my boys”. Clifford and I have evolved to business partners.
The animals want to know they are part of the family and it is forever. If they have sisters, brothers, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends this will bring the emotional and mental security. Everyone wants to feel secure in their relationships including animals. Feeling good brings them confidence. Confidence brings out their individual personalities. You might be surprised how they excel being themselves. You might also be surprised how much you enjoy watching and participating in their development. How much helping and being a part of their life brightens up your life. How your confidence starts building too.
Before you know it, love has brought an amazing life for all. Enjoy this special day.
